SHEESHA VS CIGERATTE.

Cigarettes vs. Hookah:  Which is Safer?

Many people believe hukkahs to be a safer alternative to smoking cigarettes. Hukkahs however, by the very nature of their use, may be more hazardous to one’s health than cigarettes. Reports published by the Center for Disease Control have found that hookah smoke is “at least as toxic as cigarette smoke,” as the smoke contains the same toxic chemicals and a comparable level of nicotine. Since hookahs are smoked for longer durations, a smoker may inhale much more smoke by volume than one would by a cigarette. In a study published by the World Health Organization, it was found that an average cigarette smoker takes 8 to 12 puffs, and inhales about 0.5 to 0.6 liters of smoke over the span of five to seven minutes. A hookah smoker in comparison may take anywhere from 20 to 200 puffs with each puff equaling about one liter of smoke each. This means that one hookah smoking session can equal 40 to 400 cigarettes.
Below are some helpful charts that show the difference between cigarettes and hookahs.
